European Court of Human Rights chief: “Decision on Eynulla Fetullayev’s case will be made soon”On January 28, European Court of Human Rights chief held press conference on opening of court year within the framework of winter session of Parliamentary Assembly of Council of Europe (PACE). According to APA’s European bureau, information on work of courts in 2009 has been given during the press conference.

Focusing on the cases fom Azerbaijan, Chief of European Court of Human Rights said that decision on Eynulla Fetullayev’s case is still under consideration, declining to tell any details on this period of consideration: “Of course, I’m aware of the works done on this case. I’ve had a conversation with chief of Azerbaijani Constitution and Supreme Courts on this issue today. But, what can I say now is all that, decision will be made soon on this issue. He declined to tell the exact date and text of the decision on this case. We have such precedents in the past.”

In his reply on news facts found, regarding Eynulla Fetullayev’s case Jal Pol Kosta said that the plaintiff must provide his appeal to the court in case of finding of such facts. But it’s difficult for me to answer details on the case, as I’ve less detail information on the case.”
