28 January 2010 | The visit of Fact-finding mission to the region lingers because of Armenia
The visit of Fact-finding mission to the region lingers because of Armenia“Forthcoming visit of UNESCO and Fact-finding Mission of Council of Europe to the region still subject of negotiations” – said Minister Abulfas Garayev in the round-table “Protection of cultural values during armed conflicts” organized by Ministry of Culture and Tourism and The Committee of International Red Cross.

Minister notified that the reason for the delay of these visits which planned long time before, is obstacles that made by Armenia side. “We hold negotiation for a long time regarding to the visit of Fact-finding mission of Council of Europe and UNESCO. These negotiations still going on. But the visit should be realized according to the agreement of both sides.” – said A. Garayev.

According to his words neighbor side (Armenia) always makes obstacles for this. “We- as Azerbaijani side is open to this visit. There are some terms for realizing these visits. We observe demanded terms. But opposite side makes obstacles every time. They delay this process. Doubtless, such kind of cases impede enough the visits of UNESCO and Fact-finding mission of the Council of Europe.”, Minister added to his speech.
