26 August 2009 | The Armenian deputy Foreign Minister: “Armenia can recognize independence of Nagoro-Karabakh”
The Armenian deputy Foreign Minister: “Armenia can recognize independence of Nagoro-Karabakh”Armenia can recognize independence of separatist Nagoro-Karabakh region. According to the news of APA, the Armenian deputy Foreign Minister Shavarsh Kocharyan has declared this during his interview to “Echo of Moscow” radio station. Shavarsh Kocharyan has stressed out that this matter is never excluded: “But we wait being in the position of consistency for the negotiation process. If Azerbaijan brings the negotiations to a cul-de-sac, nothing will be excluded then”.

As a reply to the opinion of an Azerbaijanian journalis “If Armenia continues to prevent the solution of the confilict in a peaceful way, Azerbaijan will solve the problem in a quick military way”, Shavarsh Kocharyan has said that if Azerbaijan undertakes a military way, this will accelerate recognition of Nagoro-Karabakh by the international community: “On the other hand, the agreement about the ceasefire which was signed by means of Russia, is still in power. In my view, it is to the benefit of all peoples.”

The Armenian deputy Foreign Minister has stressed out that the solution of the conflict in a peaceful way depends on the constructive position of Azerbaijan: “For that, Azerbaijan has to forget the principle “either everything, or war”.
