The Confederation of Trade Unions of Azerbaijan received more than 500 thousand applications and complaints during the yearThe Confederation of Trade Unions of Azerbaijan received more than 500 thousand applications and complaints within one year, Confederation head, Sattar Mehbalyev reported to APA. According to him, the applications and complaints were related to the vacation delays, poor working conditions, non-payment of compensation for industrial injuries, improper calculation of wages, unfair dismissal, social problems, housing issues, aids: «We thoroughly review all these applications and complaints and try to solve a problem in time».

S. Mehbalyev noted that if a person is a Union member, in the case of unlawful dismissal, he can appeal to the court and seek for restoration in the workplace. He encouraged workers to learn their rights: «All workers should be familiar with the Labor Code, the law and their rights. It is difficult to dismiss a worker who knows his rights. Mehbalyev also noted that the information about mass cutbacks in the oil industry does not correspond to the reality: «Here only the employees are dismissed who reached the retirement age».
