UNESCO programme expert: “Azerbaijan takes an active part in the UNESCO projects on the participation of women in the political life of the society”“Azerbaijan takes active part in the UNESCO projects on the participation of women in the political life of the society,” Alla Ampar, programme expert on Social and Humanitarian Sciences of UNESCO Office in Moscow, told APA. Though UNESCO office is based in Moscow, it operates in Azerbaijan, Armenia, Belarus, Moldova and Russia. Alla Ampar said it is early to speak about concrete projects for the near future, but UNESCO’s general strategy remains unchanged.

“Main attention will be paid to human rights, bioethics, AIDS/HIV problem. The next conference of UNESCO will be held in October, new Director General will be elected there. Strategy on human rights, bioethics is the priority for UNESCO and we will continue realizing programs in this field,” she said. Alla Ampar said along with general projects, UNESCO also implements special projects in line with the requirements and interests of every country.

“Azerbaijan takes an active part in the projects on the participation of women in the political life of the society. AIDS/HIV problem and bioethical problems are urgent for all the countries of the region, including Azerbaijan. We will continue implementing the related projects,” she said.
