In the instruction of the Azerbaijanian Commissioner of Human Rights, Elmira Suleymanova, the employees of the Ombudsman have run an investigation in Qobustan jail. On the basis of the information delivered from the press service of Ombudsman to APA, the reason for it was that there had been spread some information about the torture facts in that jail. The information spread about Imran Djannatov who was said to attempt to commit suicide and to be subjected to torture in penalty cell, another prisoner Farrukh Garabaghli who was said to be beaten and placed in penalty cell as he had wanted a TV set was not witnessed. The press service of the machinery has underlined that condemned I. Djannatov was kept in a separate cell as he is under investigation, but F. Garabaghli had been sent to the clinic of the Penitentiary Service.
