A sitting was held regarding the results of the monitoring of projects funded by the Council of State Support to NGOsAzay Guliyev, the head of the Council of State Support to NGOs under Azerbaijani President has organized an assembly about the results of the monitoring with the participation of leaders and work staff of the Independent Scientific-Practical Law Center and the International Eurasia Press Foundation which were accomplishing the monitoring of the projects funded by the Council.

On the basis of the information supplied to APA by the press service of the Council, Azay Guliyev has underlined the social importance of the actions and measures implemented in the projects and has estimated it as the manifestation of care and attention of the government to the development of the civil society. The head of the Council drew the attention to the importance of increase in civil initiative, solution of social problems in the society, consolidation of NGOs as organizations and increment in their managerial practice at the result of the realization of projects. He has clarified that monitoring conducted was contemplated for several particular points.

Azay Guliyev underlined that the results of the monitoring had to present a real panorama of the activities implemented in the projects and from the aspect of exploring shortcomings in the reports and resolving them in time, to no one, no organization would be made concessions: “Owing to these results, several organization will obtain much more grant in the next year and some organizations will be deprived of grants. According to these results, we should evaluate the existing situation of civil society in the country, determine financing perspectives and we should exactly envisage the difficulties and problems that organizations, particularly NGOs in the regions confront and their need to be involved in trainings.”

It was mentioned in the meeting that the monitoring conducted in over 200 organizations directly indicated the situation of civil society in the country. It was pointed out that, there was a need to form project funding in a system and a need of differentiation in financing. Closing the meeting the head of the Council A. Guliyev stressed to discuss the consequences of the first stage of the monitoring on September 16 with the members of the Council and all the organization leaders who implemented the projects.
