Some 2, 618, 950 sq. m. area demined in AzerbaijanSome 2, 618, 950 sq. m. of area was cleared from mines and unexploded ammunition in August, 2009. The Azerbaijan National Agency for Mine Actions (ANAMA) revealed and detonated 9,430 unexploded ammunition and mines in this territory, the ANAMA told Trend News on Sept.8.

Some 425 specialists, 115 assistant staff, 5 mechanized mine clearing cars and 30 mine detector dogs took part in it. So far, 110, 263, 642sq. m. of area was demined and 477,602 unexploded ammunitions were detonated.

The ANAMA carries out demining in Tartar, Agdam, Fuzuli, Agstafa and Tovuz regions of Azerbaijan and in Garadagh region of Baku. In this period one case of mine/unexploded ammunition cases were fixed, leaving one people injured.
