Representatives of Human Rights Commissioner examine detentionsHuman Rights Commissioner of Azerbaijan Elmira Suleymanova authorized her representatives to examine detention points of the Justice Ministry Penitentiary Service, press service of the Human Rights Commissioner told APA. They visited penitentiary No 2 in Puta settlement of Garadagh region, No 4 in Gobustan, No 7 in Gizildash, No 6 in Tagiyev settlement of Sumgayit City, No 14 in Khirdalan town and other detentions in Puta, Gizildash, Lokbatan, Sumgayit, Guzdak and met with the sentenced people there.

Most of the detentions were repaired, but there are some problems with employment of sentenced people, who are living in the detentions or allowed to stay at home. Some of the detentions are far from the settlement areas or not in the balance of the Justice Ministry and these conditions create problems in their maintenance. The representatives of the Human Rights Commissioner made inquiries about the identified shortcomings and made recommendations to the supervisors of the detentions to lift the problems.
