10 November 2009 | Azerbaijan Press Council prepares the list of the state organizations that did not respond to inquiries
Azerbaijan Press Council prepares the list of the state organizations that did not respond to inquiriesThe Press Council runs monitoring to find out how the state bodies and organizations answer the information inquires of journalists. According to the information of Trend News, the chairperson of the Press Council- Aflatun Amashov said that to journalists on Wednesday.

“We make monitoring to know how institutions and organizations reply to the information inquires. We will determine the bodies that refuse answering the inquiries of journalists and announce the list of them. Functionaries refuse to provide information to the press on their activities and consequently, serious problems emerge to receive information,” – Amashov said.

In the opinion of the chairperson of the Press Council, the cases of not answering the information inquires are most faced in the regions, the functionaries reject communications with journalists. Aflatun Amashov pointed out that, the regional press has many serious problems in Azerbaijan. This worries the Press Council and solutions to these problems are investigated.

According to him, as the logistical situation of the press in the regions is in hard condition, this reduces professionalism of journalists and that is an overly important problem. The chairperson of the Press Council underlined that, because of lack of publishing houses and as the Mass Media does not carry out its mission and incline to racketeering this influences on relations with the press badly.

Amashov stated that, when the monitoring was over the Press council would organize an event with regard to the consequences.
