13 November 2009 | Baku will host an international conference “Justice for children”
Baku will host an international conference “Justice for children”An international conference “Justice for children: legislation and its application” organized by Azerbaijani Parliament, UNICEF and Azerbaijan Lawyers Confederation will be held in Baku, from November 16 to 17. Deputy Chairman of Azerbaijan Parliament, Milli Majlis, Mrs. Bahar Muradova and head of UNICEF office in Baku Marc Herevard will make an opening address.

The conference is dedicated to the announcenent of 2009 as “children`s year” by the order of Azerbaijani president and 20 th aniversary of the UN Convention on the Rights of the Child and will bring together officials from CIS countries, MPs, local and international specialists in justice area. They will talk over the reforms in the legislation, consideration of establishment of juvenile justice in the CIS countries pursuant to the international standards and will have an exchange of views on other topics.

The conference participants are expected to adopt a Baku Declaration on justice for children.
