The bill on the submission of reports covering municipalities' work is prepared, the Azerbaijani parliamentary committee chairperson said. These reports will be submitted to the Milli Majlis. "The project does not envisage submission of reports by all municipalities," the chairperson of the parliamentary committee for regional issues Arif Rahimzade told Trend News today.

Rahimzade said that only those municipalities having serious shortages in activity will submit reports to the parliament. The chairperson of the committee said that during preparation of the project they would determine the mechanism for municipalities to submit reports.

Azerbaijani municipal elections are scheduled for December 23. About 15,682 members are expected to be elected for 1,718 municipalities. Municipal elections were held twice in 1999 and 2004.
