Azerbaijani Penitentiary Service was selected to the best institution in terms of  corporation with pressAccording to the survey conducted by the Council of Press in terms of corporation with press, the Penitentiary Service of the Ministry of Justice of Azerbaijan was selected the best institution. According to the information of Trend News, the director of the Council of Press Aflatun Amashov has stated it during a joint meeting on Wednesday with the director of the public relations department in the penitentiary service Mehman Sadigov with journalists.

Mr. Amashov said that, the Council of Press had conducted a survey in order to find out the level of relations with mass media outlets and this Service had distinguished itself for corporation with press. In the opinion of Mr. Amashov, the Council of Press has not received any complaints about the Penitentiary Service in terms of relations with press. The head of the Council of Press has stressed out that, these kinds of meetings would be held with other establishments, as well.

The head of the public relations department in the penitentiary service, Mehman Sadigov has stated that, per diem the department received inquiries from eight media institution on a par and responded those inquiries on the fly. Mr. Sadigov underlined that, media had recently a great role in the communication of reforms realized in the Penitentiary Service to the public.

The head of the department encouraged media representatives to be perceptible and careful when delivering information to public about prisoners and encouraged them not to impart wrong and distorted information.

During the last year, all the jails in the country have subscribed to 15 newspapers and journals, Mr. Sadigov said. Replying to the questions of journalists, Mr. Sadigov informed of some issues:lately, the case of death among prisoners because of tuberculosis had decreased 8 times.
