Ten Judges have been punished this year - the minister of justiceThis year ten judges have been on account of violation of law in Azerbaijan. According to the information of Trend News, it was informed in the official press about the minister of justice Fikrat Mammadov on Friday. The minister underlined that, the judges had been called to account according to the decision of the Council of Court-Law, but two chirpersons in the court had been excludedfrom their positions.

In General, the Council of Court-Law have involved over 60 judges in disciplinary liability and have taken different disciplinary steps regarding them. The full powers of two judges were put an end to. Moreover, the Council of Court-Law has not reccomended 30 judges for being in the position due to the assessment of the activities of judges.

The number of judges versus the population in Azerbaijan characterizes the lowest indication comparing to the Council of Europe member states. In Azerbaijan 100 thousand people fall within four judges, however in some European countries the indication constitutes 20-25.
