The Fund of State Support for the Development of Mass Media in Azerbaijan will extend the term of the personal competition announced for journalists“As the journalists were complaining about the lack of time to submit articles, we will prolong the term from December 5 to 12”- Vugar Safarov, the director of the Fund of State Support for the Development of Mass Media under Azerbaijani President told Trend News.

According to the statement of Mr. Safarov, around 20 journalists have written to the fund so far. “After December 12, experts will scrutinize the writings submitted by journalists in various topics and will determine winners”,-added the the director of the Fund.

Apropos of rewarding the winners, he underlined that the ceremony may take place on December 29 or 30. “We intend to hold an event on the occasion of the Day of Solidarity of all Azerbaijanis and the New Year. I think, the winners will be announced in that event.” underlined Mr. Safarov.

From 12 June on, the Fund of State Support for the Development of Mass Media under Azerbaijani President had announced a competition in 12 directions. Maximum amount for each project was 20 thousand manats. Applications were received from July 1 to 31. The winners cover 30 newspaper, 13 information agencies, 6 journalistic organizations, and 6 other related organizations.
