Representative of the Council of Europe in Azerbaijan: The process of reviewing complaints will be accelerated in the European CourtThe process of reviewing complaints will be accelerated in the European Court. According to Trend News, the special representative of the Secretary General of Council of Europe, Veronica Kotek stated in the anniversary event dedicated to the adoption of Azerbaijan to the membership of Council of Europe.

According to Veronica Kotek, the process of accelerating of complaints is relating to the validation of Protocol 14. She also stated that, recently complaints to European Court from member countries are significantly increased.

“Every member country is responsible for the state of human rights inside the country. Countries should attach importance to the protection of human rights, should investigate every case of violation of human rights, should take prompt actions regarding this, should increase the role of democratic institutes, NGOs, should create better conditions for their activities” - the special representative of the Secretary General of Council of Europe, Veronica Kotek stated.

Last year 154 persons were punished for the violation case of human rights in Azerbaijan.
