The Council of State Support to NGOs Under The President of the Republic of Azerbaijan reported about its activities in 2009. According to APA news, in the event Chairman of The Council Azay Guliyev informed that The Council held financial contest for NGOs, for the implementation of 248 projects out of 613 presented projects, 2 million 68 thousand dollar were expended. In addition, The Council supervised on the implementation of projects and informed the public about monitorings. A. Guliyev noted that they took decisive steps in order to improve legislation and international relations. He said that database of NGOs are created and 800 NGOs’ coordinates are picked up.

Giving speech in the event Director of the Council Feraset Gurbanov informed about held monitoring of NGOs last year and their results. He notified that some organizations had not create appropriate condition for monitoring in general, some organizations’ reports had not been prepared properly, sometimes financial support resources had not been spent efficiently. Nevertheless, he added that there were enough projects which implemented productively. Speaking about announced financial contest for 2010, F. Gurbanov said that some organizations’ project have not been compiled properly and demanded documents have not been in the right order.

Representatives of NGOs gave their expressed their proposals regarding the activities of the Council and financing of projects and other matters.
